Shivaji Bhosale, also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was a legendary Indian warrior king and founder of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century. He was born on February 19, 1630, in Shivneri Fort near Pune, India, and died on April 3, 1680, in Raigad Fort, India.
